Saving on Babysitting

I was saying "Hello" to a friend's little kid the other day, and the kid replied back in English, with a Chinese accent. Wait a minute! Both of his parents speak English with a Canadian accent. So, how could their kid have a Chinese accent?

Apparently, like most young couples with kids, they wanted to save some money on the cost of babysitting, and the grandparents were watching the kid while they were at work. Since the grandparents spoke with English with a Chinese accent the kid was learning to speak with the same accent.

Funny? Yes, I thought so. Maybe he could be the next Russel Peters.
